Mobile Entertainment Center Inputs

I have been thinking of compiling a video entertainment system for my Firebird. Before I have just added a stereo system and Subs and an amp, but I have never added a CD Changer Mini Disc, etc. So my major question would be what would it take to get multiple inputs to work.

Is this something that is done via the head unit with an external routing box of some sort? Or are there Head units that have multiple inputs. I know how to do this if I had a home entertainment center. Is it a similar setup where all the channels feed into one primary component, then plugs into the head unit, or do you need a head unit with multiple inputs?

I am looking into adding my Playstation 2, a CD Changer, XM radio and would like to have a few more input channels just in case I want to add to my set up.

I haven't bought a head unit yet and was wondering how it gets hooked up, and what is the best company to go with as far as a head unit, etc.

Also, for anyone that has added multiple video channels as well, would that be done via a regular home AB switcher, or would I need something else to switch between my multiple video channels?

Brad

The disc changer usally has its own type of plug (not red/white rca plug) I could be wrong but that is how it was done in the days before my MP3 disc's. Also You can but a head unit with mutiple AUX red/white inputs.

My rockford MP3 deck has about 5 plugs in the back.

Output:
front amp
rear amp
and subs

Input:
Aux 1
Aux 2
(for playstion or dvd sound)

I'm pretty sure the video input (yellow plug from playstion) will plug into the moniter that you use.
