amp problem

i just picked up a coustic 600se. i have run into a roadblock though. it will go in a nd out of protect. it will be fine for like 2 seconds and go into protection mode. it will stay in protection mode for like 10 seconds and then go fine for another couple of seconds. i checked all the fuses and my other amp works perfectly fine with the same wiring.

what ohms are you running at? it may be too low for that amp. or the amp may be dead...

i didn't even have the amp hooked up to any subs or anything. i just tryed running power, ground and a remote wire to it to see fi it would power up. no speakers or rca's hooked up to it at all. i think the amp might just be fried. even if it is i got it for free so it wouldn't be too bad.

I have had a couple of amps do that to me. Where it would power up for about 2 seconds and then go into protect. Come to find out they were blown. Sounds to me like that amp is blown. Open it up and check for blwon resistors and such. Or give it to a shop to rebuild. That's just my $.02!
