it's simple, get a relay that's connected to your remote turn on lead. Whenever you turn the radio on it'll turn the relay on and complete the path to ground for your fan.
as for the fan, any 12v fan will do...the size depends on how much you wanna cool the amp.

why dont you just splice the power wire for the fan onto the wire that turns your amp on when you turn the headunit on?? and then ground it seems pretty legitimate to me.

Isnt it bad to splice a wire in to the head unit turn on.I thought you could ruin a radio if you do that.

depends on how much current your fan draws. its better to be safe and run a relay. and yes, you should fuse it too. check out the12volt.com for lots of good info on relays and other stuff too.. the kind of relay oyu're looking for is a SPST, commonly availalbe at any place that sells electronic stuff..

Most remote wires can supports a few tenths of an amp current draws. Most small fans draw a bit more then a tenth. Definately use a relay.

I would definately use a relay. Just find a relay that is compatible with a 12 volt system, and you will be fine. If you need any help wiring it up, just ask.

def use a relay that turns on anywhere from 10-12v, and use a fuse to whatever the fans are rated at....if the 2 fans each run a 500mA rating, use somethig like a 1A fuse.
