well since i put my sub box in during the fall, i havent encountered that problem yet. I think i will sell my box before summer that way i have room for my tops. If i didnt sell my box....hmm...good question...prolly in the back seats or leave them at home.

hey man...i can totally relate to you..i have a 92 rs with t-tops....my box runs about parallel with the back trunk(thetop part) it runs a little..higher..i was really pissed when i first saw it...but i layed one down upside down...and placed the other one on top backwards...it fits fine and secure...a little tighter inside the bag, but its the price i paid..ill have some pics of it soon...let me know if you want to see it...

how do the ttops in a 4th gen go in?!?! i thought it was all the same. and what kind of holder are you making?? doesnt really make sense seeing as how the locks for the bag (those clip things) go into the rear of the car so low.. if you know what i mean.. its like right above the well.

Hey.....

What speakers are those in the door?

I'd love to do something like that in mine, but I'm afraid of the mounting depth. Obvioulsy you have power windows, so the clearance was OK?

Thanks,
AJ

I was driving my transam last monday, and took the tops and put them on the storage bag, since I have a sub box, I had to put the bag on top of the box. Since the bass is not directional, it did not mater that te subs were covered.
I would not recomend to put them some were else unless they are secured cause its very dangerous in case of an accident.

arrg. i hate the pic of the old kick panels. made new ones that look 100x better. but anyway. i installed a set of 3-way Crystal Mobilesound components. the set consists of a 1" tweeter, 4" mid, and 6 1/2" midbass. the tweeter and mid are in the kicks, while the midbass is in the door. easiest way for me to install the set without taking up too much space. i need to redo the mounting for the 6 1/2s though, not sturdy at all. but i wanted em in asap, so it happens. i plan on doing a custom door enclosure when i get the time.

OK....... you totally DIDN'T answer my question.

How deep are they and did you have any clearance problems? Where you able to roll down the window all the way? Etc, etc.

oops. didnt see the text under the picture. my fault. what i did was make a 5/8-3/4" ring to mount the speaker to. that was attached to the door panel (not the best way to do it). i had very, very little space left behind it. window can go down all the way. but the magnet may screw with the motor (never had any real problems, but something to keep in mind, becuase it is right behind the speaker. dont remember the mounting depth, but you should be able to find it on their website (believe its www.crystal.com or www.crystalmobilesound.com or something along those lines). i'm planning on rebuilding the bottom part of the door panel with 1/2-5/8" mdf so the speaker can have something a bit more rigid to be attached to, along with the possibility of making an enclosure for it

Heres an idea. This is what im doing to my car right now. Im just gonna fold down the back seats and put my box with my subs and amp there. If your one of those people that hate draggin more than 1 person, then here is your solution. I dunno how it will work but i will have it done by the end of march...

i had it like that for a little while, and i liked it, bu ti dont know how it would look if i actually had a box in there that was fit.. if u know what i mean... i guess if i did that i could also put more, or bigger, subs back there.. i mean it is probably hard to fit 2 12's back in the well.

DO NOT put your subs on a folded down back seat, or on the hump period...you get in a wreck and the subs and/or amps will kick your ***. If you have T-Tops, try building a box like mine...it even holds 2 12's...im getting ready to put in a second type-r . Here is a pic...The amp can be put somewhere else so it doesnt interfere with the T-tops, or it might not interfere with them where it is...iunno, I dont have T-tops

when i have my tops in my car i just unlatch the rear seats, but dont fold them all the way down and mine fit just fine, i guess i could put them in the bag differently but this was the first way i found so i stuck with it.

If you look at my post under "Awesome sub idea" here in the car audio forum, you can see that mine is flush with the trunk and my subs fire down. I have two 10's in there and the amp is mounted at the very bottom of the trunk so you can't see anything if you're passing by. There's a crappy dimensions picture I posted in there as well if you wanna use that idea and need measurements.
