i need help hooking up my kenwood cd player!!

i need help hooking up my kenwood cd player!!

i just got my new cd player today and i got it all ready to put in and everything but the wiring harness has a positive and a negative wire to each speaker but my wires in my car that used to be hooked up to a pioneer i think only have 1 wire per speaker so what am i supposed to do? should i just hook up the positive wire to each speaker?

You need both the positive and negative. If you don't think you have any negative wires to your head unit, then rewire your car because the stock 20 gauge wire sucks. I rewired my car last week with 14 gauge wire after already running my stereo for a year with the stock wires and it made a big difference. It's really easy to rewire the car too, I didn't think I'd be able to do it, but I'm done, so anybody can do it.

If you only have a positive wire hooked up to the speaker it won't work, period.

There is no way that you will only have one wire running to each speaker and have your stereo produce sounds. So if it works now, there are both, they just might not be marked.
