stock CD player won't work

I just picked up a '91 GTA that's been sitting in a barn for the last year, and the factory CD player isn't working...it'll accept a CD, spin it for a few seconds, and then spit it back out with an error message. I figured maybe it was just dirty in there, but I've cleaned it the best I can with one of those little canned air things and a lens cleaner disc, but I haven't gotten anywhere. Any suggestions? I would rather not have to buy an aftermarket CD player.

It's probably the optical pickup. take it to a shop, they should be able to fix it.
