Where to buy speakers online?

Hey I want to replace my stock deck and speakers, can anybody tell me what specs to look for, like watts, channels etc? I just want something that'll play cd-r's and sounds like the stock stereo or a little better. I don't have much to spend.

Thanks

www.crutchfield.com

You can enter the make and model of your vehicle, and it will only bring up what will fit.

As far as what too look for.

Deck:
signal to noise ratio (the higher the better)
Will it play cdr/cdrw
RMS watts
Depth (in our cars, there's only room for a 6 1/2" deep deck)

I'd say that's the most important stuff to look for.

Speakers:
Frequency response
RMS power handling
Sensitivity (again, the higher the number the better)
Depth (although on www.crutchfield.com it'll only show what will
fit)

Hope that helps.

Tim

It depends on the brand. Some stuff, like JVC, will honor warranties no matter where you buy it from. Other companies, like Image Dynamics, Alpine, and a bunch of others don't authorize sales online, or they only have one specific vendor that's authorized to sell online.

Not getting the factory warranty isn't such a big deal IF you buy from an established, reputable dealer that's going to still be around when you need warranty work.

Places that I'm aware of that have a good reputation:
www.crutchfield.com - pricey, but their sales are great and their service is 2nd to none. Only authorized Alpine online retailer.
www.sounddomain.com - ONLY place online that's authorized to sell Image Dynamics and Xtant. They will also beat anybody elses prices.
www.thezeb.com - great reputation and will match anybody's prices.

another vote for crutchfield...Their service is second to none...and if you need accesories like stock speaker wiring adapters, installation kits, etc...they usually include them for free...That makes installation a breeze...

got my subs and amp from www.thezeb.com they have flat rate shipping, and i got everything relatively quick (like 3 days i think).

also, if you know exactly what you're looking for, check ebay. a lot of times you can get stuff new in the box for mad cheap, that's where i got my head unit. use paypal and you'll get it quick

Don't forget Crutchfield's little 4-payment-plan thing if you spend over $200. It used to be for spending over $100; I bought all my wires that way. I'd spend about $125 and then pay the wires off over 4 months without killing my wallet.
