Radio Question/Help

Okay so I just bought an 87 Iroc-Z,
The CD Player currently in it is not getting any power at all, Its a Delco CD Player Pulled from a 91-92 Firebird that was with the car when I purchased it, I checked the Fuses and they all seem to be fine, I'm going to Take the CD Player out tomorrow and make sure that the Wiring is all correctly Hooked up, My Question is, If I find out that it is Correctly wired but still getting no power, What could it be then? The CD Player itself maybe? Or The actuall Wiring in the Car itself? I'd hate to go out and Buy a new CD Player and have it not work because there is Wiring Problems, Any Advise or Suggestions you could give me before I tackle this Project? I'd Greatly Appreciate Any help with this, It sucks Driving without Music.

~Thanks

Assuming that the radio is wired correctly, and all the fuses are intact, all you need to do is check that you have a 12v feed to the stereo. If you don't have a test light or a multimeter, take the courtesy light bulb out (only because it's the easiest to gain access to). Touch one end with the earth lead, and the other end with the 12v positive feed wire. The bulb should light up. If it does, you have a stereo fault. If it doesn't, you have a wiring fault. Make sure you have the right leads though, and make sure the ignition is on (if the stereo is wired to only work with the ignition on)

The wiring was changed from 87 to the 92. the previous owner might of did a hack job on it. First thing I would look at.

Well, I pulled the whole stereo out of the dash a little while ago, Turns out the CD Player isnt even hooked up to any of the wires, The wires are hooked up too Three Different Terminals and Those Terminals dont fit into the ones on the Back of the Deck, The Deck has Ports for with Pins as you probably all know but the Wires have something Different, I guess maybe he had a Different Stereo Deck in there, Pulled it out and Tried to Put the Firebird Deck in and It didnt work so He just left it in there, I dont think thats the Original Iroc Wiring set up in for those wires. Looks Like I'll have to just Buy a new Deck and Have someone who knows what they're doing put it in for me rather than Give myself a Headache Trying to figure it out. Thanks for the help though

Before buying a new deck check into just replacing the original 87
wiring plug with one from 89 and later. May be someone else can give some more suggestions.

I was thinking of doing just that, But I hear that the Early 90's CD Players Arent really that Great for Playing Burnt CD's and the like so I think I'll Opt out and Buy one of those MP3 playing Decks
