yeah, ppi is good stuff. used to be all the rage a few years back. well built stuff, puts out more than rated, but also quite expensive. many of us are on the "bang-for-buck" kick right now. ppi is out of my price range and would kill an alt with the quickness

I've been out of the car stereo scene for a few years now, but yeah, in the early 90's PPI was the amp to have. I installed Precision Power in my 86 Camaro and (funny you mentioned it) my alternator lasted about a week. Of course I think the dual-battery isolator charging 2 batteries off the stock alternator was more likely the reason.

The cool part was when the alt killed my engine battery, I jump started it with my stereo battery.

LOL, those were the days! Having a spare/dual battery setup and a roll of duct tape to hold the back window together. No wonder I am deaf now!

The Older PPI Stuff is great if you can hunt it down online. The Newer Stuff in my opinion is not as good..

That's what I've heard unfortunately. Yet another brand that is watering down their stuff to get by on their reputation.

You can get some smoking deals on the old stuff on ebay. That is what I put in my T/A I swear by it. I absolutley love the old PPI Equipment. Some older art series stuff should do ya well.
