i got my alpine 9807 head unit today and i need some info on the wires in the radio pod.

this is the Alpine manual:

i need to know what the colors of the wires are on the left column. do the colors match? my guess is they dont. i installed a car starter once on a ford car, and ALL the wires were different colors, and didnt match the harness. is there a diagram for all the functions of each wire in the radio pod?

no, i really doubt they'll match. use a volt meter to get your constant, acc, light, and whatever else you'll need. use a 9v battery to locate your speaker wires.

Easyest way is to buy a wiring harness instead of hacking up wires, unless they are already hacked. But a harness will eliminate a lot of headaches. If your harness is already hacked, you may have to search some for it, since both manuals I have don't give a positive and negative distinction, only the colors, so it's not really a big help.

Hot = Orange
ACC = Yellow
Ground = Black
LF = Grey & Tan
LR = Yellow & Brown
RF = Dark Green & Light Green
RR = Dark Blue & Light Blue

Thats according to these junk books, lol.

Hmmmm...

How much room does it need? If there is space enough between the dash pad and the mounting area you could possibly shim them up a little. Depends on how much it needs to be brought up, without having to cut up the vents.
