Put it in the "hole" between the taillights and the gas tank. Then get a carpeted board that covers the amp. That's what I'll do. You can keep some more junk down there and it will be hidden. I'll probably get my board on monday so expect pics next week.

What kind of fans are you talking about< the ones like in the coumputer. The most watts im runing is 300.

Yeah computer fans work. Any fan that runs on 12 volts is fine. So is the anchor for the harness connected to the back seat itself or to the body behind the back seat?

That cat has some 'cool' blue eyes though.
I've had my amps under my seats for ~3 yrs and never had any problems.
One's a Pioneer 40x2, and the other is a Punch 100 DSM. They keep my tush warm to.

joezero, the anchors are attached to the body behind the seats when they are folded down. I guess I could put it between the two anchor points, but will it over heat when i fold the seat back up.
AJ_92RS, I was thinking about puting there, its not that big of an amp.

Here's the tech article. http://www-ec.njit.edu/~ljd8271/amplifiers.htm
What this guy did was put plexiglass over the top of the amps and used fans to cool it.
But if you have the back seat down a lot you may not need the fans. I did it a little differently because what I was mounting wasn't as deep so I didn't have to remove any of the foam backing, so I guess it depends on how big the amp is. I don't imagine it overheating with the back seat up on short trips like to the store or a friends house. But like the example above there's enough room to install a fan so you could leave the back seat up all the time.

I want to mount both 5 point harness like this(www.ws6transam.org/harness.html). so that means i would have to put the amp in the middile of the seat, and that would render the split seat useless. i just cant think of any where else to put it! thanks for all the help.

Here is another option. This is from smokingss' car. He was able to hide his cd changer and xbox below his amp rack. But I think it would be easy enough to build something like this and carptet it to match and just leave it empty on the top.
BTW, this is in a 4th gen so it may look a little different back there, but the concept is the same.

I allready thought about that, but I keep to much junk in there. and I like to keep my spare on the other side, and the n.o.s. bottle in the trunk area. so im pretty much out of room.
thanks for the idea.
