Somebody help with RCA's

So I'm tryin to hook up the 4 channel amp to all four speakers in my car (sinceI finally got off my butt and decided to run my front speakers) and my rear preamp outputs give all kinds of noise with the engine on. Only the rears, though. Fronts are fine, as are the sub preamp outputs. I've tried running different RCA wires and I even ran it completely outside of the car (as much as I could) and the problem persists. It's driving me crazy. help

if it isn't bad equipment, then it's probably coming from the coil and ignition system.. get better grounds for your sound gear.. check grounds for engine.. It could also be cheap cables When I ran mine, I used $100cdn 5m RCA's from kicker.. I haven't gotten it all together yet. but i allowed for that problem.

It just baffles me because all my ground/power and RCA wires in the whole car are barely 6 months old and I've tryed both cheap Meijer brand and Rockford wires.

You said there's no noise on the front's... did you try using that cable for the rear? Unplug the front rca's from the radio, and plug them into the rear radio output. Then do the same at the amp. If you've got no noise, it's definately that rear set of rca's. I wonder if maybe something punctured them under the carpet, or they were bad from the factory? Either that, or the amp's rear input, or the radio's rear output, could be cooked. Seems really odd that even by draping the wire outside of the car, you got noise.

Is the amp grounded out okay? Maybe a ground loop's occurring only with the rear channels? What kind of amp is it? "Major" name, or a cheaper knock-off name (Rockford vs Rockwood)?

TomP: I've tryed every combination of RCA wires and inputs/outputs possible, yet I still get the noise. It must be the deck's rear output The amp is grounded OK, too. It's the amp in my sig, an older PPI. It really pisses me off because I've had theat Kenwood deck for 2 1/2 yrs now and this is the first time I've ever touched the rear preouts.

I'd go try again, but now I've got bigger problems, it seems that even though power, ground and remote wires all have continuity, the power light won't come on. So I'm sure my amp is f***ed somehow after only 3 months of use. $400 down the drain.

try monster?

rockford wires are horrible i used monster in the entire car and i was fine.. only thing good from rockford are 6x9's and their amps, im running 2 rf amps (4 ch and 2 ch for the subs)
i would use monster rcas if u have the money or i could get u some cheap if u want but also check the ground thats a big problem in f-body cars, the electrical system is soo unstable that theres a lot of feedback. they almost designed the cars not to have audio systems

Could be the connectors inside the amp or hu. I've had the outer terminal on the rca jack on the amp break off of the board before.
