I know that its not 15s but you couls get a couple E12As to put in. I have one and its more than loud enough for me and sounds great even in its little 1.2 cu ft box and only 800 watts. They also have 15s but i don't think you will be able to have 2 15s and you t tops. 2 12s and anywhere from 1000-2000 watts of of a good amp and I don't think you'll be disapointed.

with careful designing, you could get 2 15s and keep your ttops back there. problem is you wouldnt really have enough air space to feed those hungry beasts. you might be able to find some 15s that can live off of about 1 cu ft each, but it would probably be a better idea to save some money and get a good pair of 12s. they would probably sound pretty close to same and you wouldnt have to worry as much about space.

two 15's can definitely be done... but the ttops will be an issue.

beacause of the shier diameter of a 15 inch sub.. space is definitely an issue, but you will have no issues with 2 that you wouldn't have with 1. i can guarantee you this, because had i built the bottom of my sub-box to accomidate it, two 15's would have fit.

you DO have to note, however, that because of the size of the magnet on my particular sub, and the size of the cones on all 15" subs, it is VERY difficult (if not impossible) to mount a 15 flush with the top of the well.

raising the box up like I did will not provide you with enough room to accomidate t-tops.. not even close. that's not to say that you can't build such a box and store t-tops.. you'd just have to build the box appropriately and have some sort of rails that let your tops sit above the sub (& amp) without damaging anything.

the project actually doesn't seem that hard to me, the hardest part is building the sub-box correctly so that the magnet doesn't hit the angled-part of the well. i'll attach some pics so you can see what i did - i hope they help.

Actually its because I feel sorry for all those people that cant afford a nice system, so I thought if it was loud enough I could share with the poor saps.

im about to get a pair of L7 12s. not trying to go deaf, just like the bass. i also like going to comps. its similar to the need for speed. i see your type periodically. you think what you have is impressive and it may be to you just like a mustang owner is with their cars. you enjoy what you have and we will enjoy what we have.

oh, and im also getting these subs to blow away those guys that pull up next to you at the light with their radios blaring with all the statics and distortion. boy i hate those guys. ya'll know what im talking about.

i hate those guys. i will never be one of those guys

also on a simalar note, just to clearify, i don't dislike systems with alot of base, my seystem in my old car had som decent base. what i don't like is a system that is ALL base, (the guys ou are talking about at the lights, allyou hear is a little thump and no clear sound.) as long as the rest of your system stands up to your subs i say the more power to ya!!!

also, while i have the attention of the experts here, what is the advantage of having say two subs as opposed to one ?

The same advantage of a 350 over a 305 or a 2.8.... More displacement.

.... however, one cannot simply say "two subs hit harder than one". There are some good single subs out there that will hit better and louder than 3 lesser subs.

I think that the effect is obvious though, when you have a single sub and you add a second sub of the same type... it's that much more bass... assuming a proper job on the installation and that you have the required amplifier power and enclosure space for the additional sub.

i wasnt offended. i kinda went off on ya there. didnt mean anything by it. maybe i was a little upset, and on top of that, didnt read what i wrote.

oh and i agree, if you got some bass, back it up with some treble and mids. loud is one thing, annoying is another.

two subs are better than one if you want it louder, plus they can be better sound quality wise. if you have them wired in stereo, you can get both sides of sound stage working seperately yet together. in mono, the subs kinda take bass from each side and take the middle ground so to speak.

We put 2 MTX 15"s in our old 84 Camaro. Lots of room for the T's.
Simular setup to Chris's 85z. We had the amp mounted in the glove box to be out of the way. Looked clean and sounded good.

But as I was say'n, two free air 15"s with a baffle works great and mounts flush. I have installed a set of 15" MTX's, 2 sets of 15" JL's and a set of 15" Cerwin Vega's there in several diferent cars, all mounted flush. Free Air sub's are the easyest to install there as u just need to make a baffle. If u want to go with a seal'd box its abit tricky'r but can still be done with the right sub.

U will want to put covers on the Subs so your T's dont rest on the speakers. The ones the JLw3 sub's use work great. And mount the amp in the glove box again so the T's dont sit on it.

I have 15's in one of my car. I thought I would just post a pic of what it looks like. This is not inside of a firebird or a camaro this is inside of a dodge daytona. I like it and it was built for competition and also everyday driving. My hearing is just fine. I never really cranked it up when i was driving in my car. I could turn it up and keep the bass down and it sounded awesome. Then when I took it to competition we used a podeum and the loudest I hit was 154.1 DB. Just thougt I would share. I am planning on putting 2 15's in the back of my firebird in a custom fiberglass box that I am going to try and build myself. When i start I will post pics of the progress

I know this a 3rd gen website but I thought I would share

I'm in the process of building 4 15"s into the back of my Iroc... just like the pic I attached... that was my 1991 GT... don't kill me! It was before I realized Ford sucked really really bad.
