Legacy and Jensen amps are crap. If you're looking for something temporary, go ahead and go with these generic products. But I'll tell you one thing, it definitely pays off to spend more now. I'm VERY big on "you get what you pay for." It doesn't get any more logical than that.

rs_boy sweet camaro

a comp vr when broken in the right way will take huge amounts of power compared to whats its rated to.

i'm know of a few ppl personally runnin the VR's with 1500-1800watts ea no problems and hittin in the 150's. far as daily drivin go i wouldent be affaid to put 800-1000w on a VR 15 or 600-800 on a VR 12. good lil subs that dont cost ya a ram and a leg.

i'll shot u a e-mail tho man with a ot more detail.
work just aint lettin get lot of time on the net to do much right now.

A Correction on the subs i have, they are the new 2003 compVRs. I just got them yesterday after they got held up in the shipping but i paid the price for regular comp's so thats a good deal!! I am going out today to get an amp. Probably going to go with kicker seeing as i want it to be just right. And my camaro got hit by some moron last week, so its been in the shop and i have had more time to get money so i will spend more than 200 on an amp. Thanks for all the replies!

Fosgate: - semi expensive, definetaly under rated on their wattage. I currently run a 120a2 to two 12" tornado subs down at 2ohms bridge, it doesnt overheat, and I have the gain all the way up. These in my opinon are one of the best for raw power. especially the older ones.

Hi-fonics: Used to be one of the best bang for the buck options, low price a tad underatted, and you could abuse the hell out of em. Now days i think they added some bling, and with that the price went way up.

Ample: the one I had put out great power for its rated size, an punded well, but it blew up after a day of going through fuses, whjen I went to return it I upgraded to fosgate for $50 money well spent.

Alpine: the one I had ran great took a beating and sounded exceptionally well---very pricey.

Kicker, heard good things but no experience.

Jensen, and the low end types. In my experience none of them have been able to push any of my subs worth a damn. However in a pinch $60 for a 4 channel amp to power my fronts was money well spent. I run a passive eq, so having amps for all channels is a must in most all my systems.

Pyramid: this thin was cheap, but it didnt hold up to my abuse, the sound quality, and power seemed to go down incrementally as it got older, then we lost a channel, and it went in the closet.

Orion/soundstream: I put thse in the really expnsive really good amp category I have heard them both, but both are out of my price range, they sound great

Sorry for an Ebay ping but go on there and get yourself a Xtant A6001 for 275.00 it's a mono block and it's rated at 600 watts@ 2 ohms but just to let you know it's highly under rated. great sound quality too.
