Digital Cap stays lite all the time???

Well, I have started to notice that the capacitor I have installed seems to recognize small power drains such as the power locks or even the LED for my Alarm. As a result, the cap stays lite as long as there is a current draw. This is making me worry about my battery. I mean it seems unlikely that such a small LED display could drain much power at all, never the less I figured I would run it by all of you and see what anyone has to say.....Thanks guys.

I actually did a test right now to see and it appears that after around 10-15 minutes of the alarm being engaged and the nothing else going, the cap shuts off. But it seems weird to me that it still remains on for that long on its own. Do you guys think it could be a bad groung???

My cap has a remote wire that shuts it off when the HU shuts off. The only thing thats is actully doing anything is the LED display. Your cap works all the time as long as its hooked up and shouldn't drain any power unless power is taken from it. If its hooked up correctly your cap should not take any drain from anything other than you amp/amps.

as was stated by a fellow member man....the cap led is controled by that remote wire that is hooked up to it......where did you hook the other end of that wire up to?

my cap takes power directly from the positive terminal for the display, and cuts off way before voltage reaches a critical level.

i have another that im toying with adding.

There is no remote wire on mine, I guess I could hook one up, but the cap senses power and comes on automatically say if i turn the key...... oh well, I will mess around with a different ground and see what happens

it is a piece of crap wal mart cap, but it works, a capacitor is pretty much a capacitor, and it starts beeping and turns off at like 12.5 volts, so its plenty safe, i agree, its kinda stupid though.

the other is a lightning audio, with a remote on.

To answer the original question you should not have a problem with your cap. The only thing staying on is the LED read out and it draw very little current and should be able to run for days on a good car battery.
