yet another tweeter problem

yet another tweeter problem

i have another tweeter question...i bet you veterans are getting sick of these.

ok heres the deal...
...i found a really good deal on some rockford fosgate tweeters and i couldnt pass it up. however, once i got them i realized i had no idea where i was gonna put em or how to wire them...from reading all the past threads, im pretty sure the dash 4x6's are the best speakers to tap into, but i have no idea how to do that. all this talk of paralleling and other weird *** words keep tripping me up. could someone tell me very simply (im retarted) the best way to wire them. im having problems with which wire to use, how much to run, how to power it, etc.

the other thing is i have a two channel 600 watt amp but i dont want to have to rewire the speakers and run them to the amp just to power a set of $50 tweeters and i dont think it would be necessary after reading all the other people's questions...i think i could just wire it to the head unit if someone could tell me in lamens terms how to do this. thanks a lot!

take the wires that come with the tweeters and hook them to the terminals (or directly to the wires) from your 4x6s. Either solder them directly to the terminals, or buy connectors to attach them to the wires. Positive of the tweeter to the positive of the 4x6, and negative to negative. The tweeters should some with a little capacitor (it may be on the backside of the tweeter) to filter high frequencies. If not, visit your local car audio shop.

If your tweeters came with a manual, it should have easy-to-follow instructions.

that helped a lot now i got those puppies in...only problem is one of the 4x6's doesnt work...its been out for a while...but whatever thats a problem for another time. right now i just want to figure out how to get these tweeters into a location.

ive pretty much decided im going to put them into the a-pillar, even though ive heard so much debating on these message boards about this. but lets just say that i am going to....how do i go about doing this. do i need to drill a hole in the a-pillar? is there any danger of drilling into anything? how far up do i do it? where do i run the wires? i know its a lot of stuff but i want to do this right for a change, im getting a fresh start with my sound.

Taking the a-pillar plastic off takes a total of about 30 seconds. Once it's off you can work on it out of the car. Flush-mounting the tweets would look best, but there may be fitment issues if the tweets are too deep. Surface mounting is the easiest, but looks very amaturish.
