Twin Adire Brahma's

Here is my recent stereo mod, 2-12" adire brahma's. I love them! They weigh like 40lbs a piece, I weighed both of them in the box and its 100lbs!! As of right now i only have 800rms total going to them, i'm looking for a 2000rms amp to power them. So far i've been looking at the Us Amps USA-2000 to power them.

I can't wait to get mine. I'd hoped to have it by now, but my checkbook has dictated otherwise.

The sound quality from these subs is amazing, the bass from every song sounds so much better than my old subs, they sound so much more accurate and more detailed. As for the quality of the parts used, they are heavy subs, and feel solid. I haven't found ANYTHING i dislike about them. I am definitly underpowering them and need more power, but still i am pleased with there performance. I can't wait to get the right amp for them.

Sweet setup. Is that box a little small for them? Have you tried just powering one of the 12s with the 800rms?

I think thats about all the power dan wiggins runs to his. Try a little larger box and it will probably perform better. To most people on here just one of those with 1000 watts will out perform their current setup musically.

Those are beautiful subs, I was going to get one but it just wasn't in the cards. Didn't think I could handle putting that much weight in the back, and I was looking for something that I could wire to 2ohms as well. Picked up a single Elemental Designs e15SP instead.

If you're looking for an amp to push those two, consider getting an Orion XTR PRO 2400. It's not like their HCCA line; the XTR PRO's are Class D amps. 2400 watts, and you don't have to be at like .5 ohm to get it. That's the RMS rating at 2ohms. And if I'm not mistaken, the Brahma's are dual 2ohm voice coils right? I think that would be a match made in heaven right there... Not knocking US Amps, but Orion's high end monsters are fierce. And those subs are well worth the effort

Ballsy move mounting them isobarically, by the way

I have them in about 1 cubic foot each. I don't really have the time to design or make a bigger box, so i'm gonna stick with mine. I would be able to use a smaller amp if i did though. My car isn't sagging yet I have each sub wired for 1 ohm, The reason i was looking at the US Amp is because its stable to one ohm and puts out the power i want in 1 ohm. its 1000wrms x2 into 1 ohms, plus i believe the US Amps was an AB amp, I'll have to look into the Orion amp. I tried powering just one brahma with my amp and it still was underpowered, my amp isn't the worlds greatest.

Well i finally bought an amp for these subs, the Us Amps 2000X. It will be shipped to my house soon. I can't wait! I think it'll put out around 3000 watts rms bridged into 2 ohms, but from what iv'e heard they are extremely under rated. I keep every one posted when it gets here. Also from what ppl have been telling me i probably will have to get another battery. Suggestions on what battery type i should get and if i would need any other parts to install the battery?

Thanks, Harry

You'll only need an extra batt if you plan on playing while the engine isn't running. I suggest a deep cycle if thats the case.

With that amp its gonna be LOUD!

Well i got my us amp, lets just say its freaking loud. When turned up all the way it will give you a headache and make your ears hurt. SQ is still great. I'm just going to keep the volume down from now on, don't want to damage my ears. I only have the amp putting out 1000rms now, i'm not even sure if i want to put any more power to the subs. My next mod for the stereo will be a Batcap, a battery with the discharge rate of a capacitor.

Check out www.respl.com I am in the process of installing one of their SE 12"s in a ported fiberglass box in my hatch. My friend hit 146.8 with one of their SE 12's and a RF Punch 700S in his grand am GT. One of the guys that works for resonant engineering is a member of the boards, username Team P.S.I. he usually can get a better deal that what their website says!
