New Discovery

Wow... I SWEAR I checked before, when we first got the car... but It's been a year, almost, and I discovered that our 87 IROC has FRONT bose speakers, also.

I checked when we got the car, but I swear I didn't see them.. I checked today because I read about the door-lock relay being behind there, and it gets a bad ground over time, to make them "lazy"

and boom.. I see this black cover, and so I think.. "... could it be?!" and i look, and it says BOSE something something on a sticker.

W00t.
I was seriously going to try to get them to work, but it starts pouring down rain so I had to stop for today. Man... it's going to sound a whole lot better when I get the 2 fronts hooked up

Alright this is weird. I cannot get these front speakers to work at all. Is this normal? I'm using an old 10 watt radio without the bose interface.

Plan on getting the interface soon, though. (allows you to safely use an aftermarket headunit)

has anyone else encountered this? is there something special the interface does that activates the front speakers?

ok, wow
i went to connect the radio correctly, and i found something
there was a loose connector
"okay".. i though

so i disconnected the middle connector from the harness, and connected the other one

BOOM-- front speakers work
i'm so happy, now.

granted, the volumes are all messed up on each speaker (but that's what the interface is for --havn't gotten it yet)

but I still have a loose harness
did the normal bose radio have (4) 4-wire connectors???
what the hell does this other connector go to?!?!?!

Just curious... how much is this Bose adaptor? It sounds like it'd be more than aftermarket speakers!
