running the power cord
ok, i would rather NOT drill any holes in my firewall so are there any holes or areas i can pass a cord through on the passanger side. i was gona come in the 1/4 panel then come in behind the kicker panel but no holes. even if there is a way to run it under the car please let me know. if anyone can get me pictures that would be perfect.
You could run it through the fender to the around the door hinges, then slip it under the weatherstripping and inside the kick panel. This is what I did for a "temporary install" 10 months ago. Well, it's still like this and I haven't had any problems.

Dont do that..depending on the size of wire your using you can really hurt your stuff..it's a powerwire..and the body of your car is ground...now what happends when your door slices the wire and the power hits the ground..it's going to short..you could blow your alt..yes there are holes in your firewall you can run it though..you just ahve to look...and they are near the middle and top of the firewall so you'll have to come in from behind your dash...they do that so water dosnt get in..when you do find a place...the professional thing is to add a rubber protector around the whole..so the wire dosnt rub up aginst the sharp metal and cut the wire....

i used to professionally install car audio systems , not just in 3rd gens but other cars as well...most of the time you can get around putting it through the fender and stuff but sometimes (like on our cars) its a much better option..once again though..depending on the gauge wire that you choose for your power wire will depict on whether you will have problems or not..mine is 4 gauge and i have had it there for almost 5 years...door closing approximately 1000 times or so (give or take) and it is fine..still pounds like the day i installed it (well almost the speakers are old now
).. but in my opinion..put it through the fender and into the door under your plastic kick panels and under the side plastic pieces..its a nice clean install and you cant see any of the wires..

Though the fender is ok..if you wana do it quick..My brother had circut city install his and they did it that way..he was really ticked because he can do it..he just didnt want to go though the firewall so he had them do it..but they didnt..the best way is though the firewall..you can and most the time..wont have any problems though the fender..i installed 1 gauge that way..and shorted out the car..it's a quick think and i wanted to see if i had everything hooked up right...but it didnt work..
