Whats your opnion on this cd player? Kenwood KDC-5019
I'd like to get a deck before friday next week, before the 3rd of October.
It read it over, looks liek a good deck. Unfortunetally I didn't see any MP3 support. Nowdays you can get MP3 support on just about any entry level deck.
It also depends on what you are going to do with it.
Some options to think about.
Good,
Remote=definately a added bonus.
D MASK+ Motorized Self-Hiding Removable Faceplate (nice)
CD Text Display (I like this feature)
Add a changer
Bad,
NO MP3 support.
Sirrus satelitte, no option for going with XM
No seperate sub out.
For the price I would look for one that has a ubwoofer output, and MP3 support. I know yu can just burn a disk anywas these days in like 2 minutes, but with mp3's you can organize several hundred songs, and add playlists as well.
My JVC has all these features, plus a few more at about the same cost. My JVC doesn't have mp3 support tho.
One feature you might look at, that I didn't even know about, but came to love is the automatic volume control. You can have the Stereo learn your r idle, and cruising RPMS. It then turn downs the volume when you come to a stop, and slowly increases it as you pull away to account for road noise.
It's nice not having to mess with the volume everytime you stop. It also has functions to lock the cd in your player, so your (my wife in this instance) Can't take out my cd and loose it. hehehe
Most important is figuring out the features you want, and picking out a stereo that's right for you. Kenwood is a good name, and most of their decks are pretty good, It's just lacks a few features for me to be interested. The hiding face is a real turn on for me.

I'm not sure about everything I what because I have no experience with stereos.
I know I'm not going to get satellite.
How would I get mp3s if I have a deck with that option?
What would I do if I wanted to hook up a sub?

Too hook up a sub you would need an amp and a subwoofer. to control the subwoofers volumae you would need a subwoofer output on the deck.
As for MP3's you can download them from the internet, burn them to disk, and take them out to your car. You can fit about 200-30 mp3's on one burnable cd.
Best bet, find somone local whos into mp3's and have them show you around.
