Has anyone heard Alpine Type-R 15's?
I was told by a representative at the local Soundwaves that the Type-R's weren't made in 15" (shows how much they know...) anyhow, how do the 15's sound in comparison to the 12's?

As with any 15 they will play deeper and take more power, but wont be as "tight" sounding as a 12 or 10.

Well yes... I know... but have you heard them?
I'm just wondering if anyone has these subs and if they like them, or if they'd prefer the 12's.

If you're tryin to decide between R12 and R15s go 15s. I am sold on 15s. Three Six Mafia - Late Night Tip. I haven't heard a 12 yet that plays that low low bass very well. My XTR Series 3 15s play it good though. Even R12s that I've heard won't play it well.
I will say that I havent heard all the 12s out there, just sayin the R12s don't play it as well as my 15s, but different brand, box, etc... take it FWIW. I DON'T have experience "tuning" a system so maybe that's the problem with their 12s.
FWIW,
Jared.

Not the Alpine 15's... the Alpine 15's are only slightly more than the 12's, that's why I was asking about 'em. I guess nobody's heard them though?

well, if they are anything like the type r 12s then they will pound pretty darn good. and seeing how they are 15s most likely better. i would say they wont be any less than the 12s which in my book is very good.
