What style radio wiring harness for 84 Z???

Hey, do any of you guys know the radio wiring harness style for an 84 Camaro? I think there are a couple different styles. I want to get one so when I get a CD deck and want to remove it for some reason all I will have to do is unplug it instead of cutting wires. If someone could help me find one also that would be great. Thanks.

Mike

There's only one style available for that year. It's the same one GM used from the dawn of time until 88-89. It's a 3 piece harness.

if your looking for a install harness all you do is goto any car audio store. Most have them for all years. and if anything i just went to crappy tire and found mine there for like 9 bux or something like that. all you do is look for company of the car and find the correct years for them gm is like 82-88 or something like that and they have a nother bracket for 89-92 and i think one more for 93-00's its fairly simple to put in all you do is connect the wires on the chart that comes with harness.

Yeah, the new style. They don't exactly have names. You just need to make sure the one your buying applies to your specific year car. If you pull your radio out and physically examine the plug, it should be a no-brainer to go to Best Buy, look at the GM part of the rack, and pick out the one for your year, and verify that the plug looks right. The early harness has 3 individual pieces that plug into 1 reciever on the adapter. The new one is a 1 piece, and is a completely different shape.

you could just do a knotted tap splice in the wires you need and save the $$ for a new CD. this wouldn't take much more time if you connected your new harness directly to the factroy wiring and you would not ruin the factory harness.

wal-mart does carry these aftermarket harnesses for about $12 for most cars.
