I have just purchased some new speakers for my 89' Iroc convertible (MB quart 4x6 and 6x9's) and will be purchasing an amp in the future to power them. What can I do to get a little extra sound out of the car. I know that verts are not the most accustic cars but I still want to get some bass out of it and am looking at some options such as:

1) purchase a set of separates for the doors with 6.5" mid bass. Is there a custom door skin that I can buy or will I have to make it my self??? any patterns I could borrow from someone out there??

2) install kicker pannels for the new separations. I assume thought that I would get more bass out of the doors?


I also want to put some subs in. Where can I put them in the convertible?? Free air subs behind the rear seats??

Any help that you folks can give me to send me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks

 

I'm also a vert owner ('92 RS), and have thought about this long and hard. I think that the best way to go as far as subs, is either the way everyone else around here does it, by dropping a box in the well and losing all of your carrying space, or to build a custom box and put it in the drivers side wheel well. I think that somebody on the boards was building custom glass boxes for that location. You can't put free air subs behind the rear seats because thats where the top folds down into. Lemme know how it sounds if you ever get it done
