which of these 2 6x9's

I came up with some extra cash so I think its finally time to dump the so called ERS sound system and start off by replacing the stock 6x9's. Im looking at these two specific speakers. Alpine's SPS-690A's or JL Audio's TR690-TXi 6x9's. I found both of these on ebay for realatively cheap. the jl's are about a 100 whereas the alpines are 62. Are the JL Audio's worth the extra cash? So which ones would be a better buy. I just plan on replacing the stock speakers and not much else as of right now so I basically wanna know which one is the best bang for the buck. Thanx in advance!

people on this site seem to like alpine but the type r series,

me too, go up to circiut city for a few minutes take a cd you like, listen to the type r alpine and the polk db series 6x9's you will like them, i have not heard the JL audio speakers, if you are in a pinch the alpines are good speakers, just try for the type s

i would say dont go jump on one speakers cause of price unless you have listened to it compared it and reseached it, i made the mistake of doint that... bleh

I wanted to get the JL's but price was a consideration...yes JL's sound awesome I think...but for the money you can't beat the alpine type s which i decided to go for...I run them off my pioneer headunit and they sound great and have alot of bass response for a 6x9...type r's are great but must have and amp to get enough power to them...my two cents are...go with JL if you got the cash or go with type s for a great budget speaker...

agreed... i think thats a good run down of the choices you gave but you listening to them will be the deciding thing, cause if you hate them then you wont get them...

listen to as many as you can, ask what they are being driven by (amp, deck, 10 watts, 30 watts, whatever) this may help you to decide as well, or just make you want an amp more, hehehehehe
