Subs and a stock stereo

I want to hook up an amp and sub to a stock stereo. I really want to keep the stock stereo as I have a convertible so I do not want to put in my nice stereo just to have it walk away. Anyway, how would you hook up the "blue" wire - this is what came with the amp to signal it to turn on.

I was planning on hooking it up the the radio power (the line that turns on and off with the ignition). Will this work?

get a line out convertor, from your local stereo shop, i sell them for about 20$. tap into your back speakers, and run rca's from the Convertor to your amp, then grab an ignition hot from your fuse box, and use that as your remote/amp turn on.
