I went over to the shop the other day, and the guy who owns it has 2 10" Massive like my other post, and hes running 2500watts rms to them

I'm not sure whether or not its 2500 each sub, But still

How can a sub rated at 350 RMS, handle a load of at least 1250watts?

subs will often handle much more than their max power rating for short periods

it depends if the power is clean (undistorted), music played, and the box specs

Well it sounded pretty damn clean, I sat in his car for a sec and my hair was waving....
What makes them able to handle soo much more, and why wouldn't Massive just state their subs able to handle more?

its not just massives that can handle much more than rated...generally any quality speaker will handle more than rated rms specs as long as it is done properly. Companies often set rms ratings low for warranty purposes, but sometimes if you email them with your box specs and how much power you want to throw at it, they'll give you the ok.

are you sure they were the 350 rms models?? MA subs often look alike between subs. a lot of people claim to be running a lot of power but really arent. what kind of amps was he running?

He had an amp that wasn't Massive on there, Not sure what it was tho.

did you see the magnets on them?? because all new MA subs look the same

Yup 100% sure, those were the 10's he had two. His shop just opened so everything was a mess in his car, wires and such everywhere, Those were definitly the two subs

could also be that the amps were severly overrated

ya true MA amps are known to be overrated if he was using them

If I have a 300Watt sub. Can I just get a mono amp that has 350RMS to power it?

That will easily power one sub.. yes?

ya your subs are DVC 4ohms so you'll want an amp that puts out 300 watts or so @ 2ohms mono

I dont need a 2 channel amp if its DVC do I?

nono, just wire your VCs in parallel...connect both positives and both negatives and you'll be running a 2 ohm load with dual 4 ohm coils

wont be under powered...should be just about right for that sub

you could probably get one for $300-400...i know the 600.1 is about $600 and the 1200.1 is $1200 in stores...or $252american on ebay

A buddy of mine can get this amp with a 5 year extended warranty for only a bit over $300.

This way, if later on I want bigger subs, I can then use this amp to power my mids. And it is the perfect Wattage for that Massive sub.

that amp wont work because its not stable down to 2 ohms mono
