MB Quart DCD146 or Polk EX346 4x6?

I have a pair of MB Quart DCD146 4x6 speakers sitting in my basement... and the Polk EX346 4x6 are in my car now.

I have listened to both and I think they sound pretty much the same... so I need your opinions!

What ones should I put in the 'maro?

I have the Polk 4x6s in my car right now. I had a problem with clipping if you give them too much bass. I ended up putting bass blockers on mine. But I would put the MB Quarts in. They are much better speakers.

get some kick panel enclosures and put some kicker 7" components in there... then you get some real sound...

I'd also highly recommend the infinity kappa plate...around 150 bucks.

Now I thought plate 4x6's didn't fit...? Did you have to mod anything?

I had some Boston Acoustic plates that didn't fit the driver's side... and I have heard that most don't.

A little action from a heat gun and all is well in fitting speakers into the drivers side of the dash.

x2. I have polks in my car right now (needed something not that expensive when I bought the car, because they were completely blown) and I also have bass-blockers. I never bothered trying to installed them w/o. I'd go with the MB's, they're a MUCH better speaker. But keep in mind... your ears will be listening to them, so if they sound the same as the polks to you, why bother pulling the dash off again??
