Question about 6.5 inch speakers
Ok, how good would this sound... Pioneer 4x6 (2 way) in the front Pioneer 6x9 (3 way) in the sail panels, and 6.5" (2 way) in the rear's.. no sub.. The rears would be Pioneer TS-D160R 6.5" REV 2-Way Speaker 30Hz -32kHz response
The amps driving them would be Pioneer GM-X374 for the main four, and the Pioneer GM-X372 for the rear
Thoughts on this?? Thanks

If your talking about putting the 6.5" speakers where most people have there subs i know its a horrible idea. Mid and High range frequencies are very distinguishable, as to where they are coming from. For a "good sounding" stereo you would like to have your stereo sounding like its a band playing right in the middle of your dash, for further towords the front of the car, not in the hatch area. I dont even have the rear 6x9s hooked up in my car for that purpose. Save the money and get a sub.

umm.. you do have a point.. does anyone know how good the bose systems sounded .. they couldn't have been that bad.. actually a single sub would be cheaper.. I just didn't want to loose to much space back there.. and I thought mounting the speakers in the locking storage lid would be a wise use of the space there. But I know you don't want to mount any subs in that location..
i have the setup only in premier....well actually i have the 2 ways in the dash and 4 way in the sail with the 6's in custom kicks up front....
i think the dash is pretty much useless unless you go with component and it's still usless....the kickpannels make things work alot better. the premiers sound better then the pioneer versions though so it may be different...
regardless i'd pass on the dash ones.

A friend of mine has the BOSE gold in his 90 Iroc. Pretty impressive for a stock stereo. Bounces the rearveiw mirror on some songs. Sounds pretty clean for the most part.

well I think the 4x6's in the front sound pretty good.. I don't need a super high end sound system.. One other thing I was wondering.. if running 6x9's in the rear was bad.. why are pretty much in that area on the 4th gen camaro's?

Thanks irocet305.. Oh ya.. thats one other thing I'll be running the factory CD deck anyways.. but didn't want to have it drive speakers.. I think I can achieve a cleaner sounding system using the extrnal amps..

ok, enough about the 4x6's .. they do not sound bad to me.. I'm happy with them.. I'm also happy with my 3 way 6x9's in the sail panels.. I was only wanting to know more about adding speakers for the back.. If the majority figure having a more fuller range coming from the very back is not such a good idea.. and having mainly the bass coming from the back is a better idea.. than I guess thats what I might need to look into.. I just thought if the sound was properly balanced between the front and the back it would sound fine..
