first i will mention what type it is

it is a sony CDx-7000x

it worked fine in my trans am but i found another one for it so decided to put it in my 94 saturn SL1.....after hooking it up the cd player would show everything on and when i go to radio or cd player if i try to turn up the volume it goes to MAX volume and then when i try to mess with the bass treble and what not it does not adjust right...when i hit the over button it skips back to radio or cd mode depending on what i was running....also, when i turn off the cd player it forgets any changes that i have done to it so i have to reset things everytime...or just leave the unit on and turn off the ignition......now sometimes the cd player tends to actually function like it used to in my trans am......

would any of you know why it works right sometimes and not other times?

another thing i must mention is that i used a 16 prong panasonic cd player wireharness because i went to a cd player shop and the guy said that you can sometimes use them......and i first thought that it was the cause of the problems...but after it worked fine a couple times i was wondering what else could cause it to b like that......
