Couldn't find thread to answer this, Thanks

Alpines are really good for the money and the 4X6s fit fine in a Firebird dash. That is what I have in my dash.

now that we have all this covered. What shoudl i do for a sub. I know i wont be gettign croa for bass outta those speakers so.....

I'm thinking one Alping 10 or 12 in the rear somehwere. Except i need the storage area in thw well. I have no clue where i'll be putting this enclosure but......

And if ya want to know, those 10s that were in the back of my car, i fianlly gto an amp for and the amp started to smoke and smoke came outta the port hole in the enclosure for the speaker so they're busted. I'd like to keep a 10 howver, so i can use my neon lights on it.

The type R's are pretty good from what I have heard from them. All I have is the Volfenhags(witch are actually pretty decent for the price) And some JL W3's.

If you are on a budget of some sort, I would say go for the Volfenhags, if money is not a problem go for the JL's, can't beat them for the thump.

I would go with infinity speakers as well...4x6 plates if they make them.

as far as a sub for the money i like elemental designs or dayton DVCs from partsexpress.com

Ed 10k , $75. To find a sub of the same price range that performs as good would be hard !

JL has been metioned but i think they are a bit over priced for what you get.

Shiva's are also good for the money.

Again, it's Infinity to the rescue. If you need a sub but need the storage space, you can put an Infinity Basslink or Basslink X in place of the rear storage compartment (you know.. that little door on the driver's side hatch?) or in place of the spare tire, and run your wires from there. Check them out here.

i have 2 alpine type r's in mine, dual 4 ohm hooked up to a memphis 1000d, and they are amazing, very good sq but the get fricken loud too, should be around 150 db on a usac meter, i got them for 75 a sub

And for up front i would definatly get some kicks and some nice componets, apline, eclipse, kicker or similar and forget about the 6x9s

What are you smoking? It's an Infinity sub with an amp and sized enclosure that doesn't take up too much space for $250! http://froogle.google.com

Just cause it says $499 on their site doesn't mean that's what it costs. Post comments when you know what you're talking about.

I do know what im talking about obviously you do not.

$250 for that piece of **** is way too much, For $250 you could get two shiva's . NO infinity *** link will ever match the output of these subs, $250 can get you a better sub with much more output then the weak *** *** link.

Its a piece of junk for those newbies who dont have a clue.

No wonder you like it.

I don't know where you come off making personal attacks against my experience, so I added a few of my own.

You certainly could get two Shivas for $250, but what are you gonna do with them? Stare at them? Flick the cone and pretend they're pounding your favorite music?

Your average Shiva costs about $110 each. They put out somewhere in the 600W range each. Since you are all-knowing and wise, tell us where we can buy an amp that will power these subs with the $30 we have left.

Don't we need an enclosure? Unless you're a free-air freak and want to slap them in a piece of plywood with holes cut in it, you need to buy something decent to put those subs in. If kidrcth wants to save some money and take the time to build an enclosure, that's great, but materials still cost money. A prebuilt enclusore is going to run at least $50, though.

So sit down junior, you're not talking to a newbie without a clue.

Oops, my bad. We only have a $200 budget for your Shivas and amp. Here's a basslink for $200: http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=BassLink

And honestly, calling an Infinity product a "piece of junk" really shows your ignorance and inexperience.

the topic is good replacment speakers , and then he brings up the sub issue he doesnt say i have $250 to spend on a sub and amp. For the price of your pathetic *** link you could get one shiva an amp and some mdf to make a box.

Its noobies like you who make bass tubes so popular.

BTW the bass link is horrible, the distortion compared to some subs of a lower price range is teribble! Just because it says infinity on it doesnt mean crap.

also comparing a shiva to a bass link is like comparing a brahma to a set of head phones!

Look, smartass, as said before, enough with the personal attacks. I offered my suggestion for the replacement speakers already, and the point is to not spend a lot of money. If you had a distorted Basslink, well then you hooked it up wrong or you should send it back to Infinity. Floor model experience at Best Buy doesn't count. None of their stuff ever works.

If you can build a Shiva box with a suitable amp and keep his trunk space for $200, then start posting some numbers and help out kidrcth. As far as I can tell, you've offered nothing but generalized criticism, weak recomendations, personal attacks, biased assumptions and no real help.

And yeah, if it says Infinity on it, it does mean something. Does "company reputation" mean anything to you? They're not as good as they are by producing garbage.

since he doesnt want to spend much money then why would you even post the weakass bass link? And who cares who makes it, every manufac makes a product thats not up to par with the rest of their lineup. Get off the infinity bandwagon already.

If you knew anything about the shiva,(pretty obvious you dont) You'd know it doesnt need 600 watts to sound good. I know a guy who bought a shiva and a 100 watt amp, made a enclosure himself, price for the sub? $130, the amp? $100 and $20 for the mdf. So he spent $250 all together, This sub with the little amp on it is INFINITLY louder than any *** link ever made.

Btw i've heard 4 *** links so far and none of them sounded good for the money.

Sure it may be cool for some newbie who doesnt have a clue to be able to pick one up and have it thrown in the spare tire area, but for someone looking for the most bang for his buck theirs more out their to be had.

You deserve the personal comments i make towards you when you say i dont know what im talking about.

Stop sounding like a rep for the bass link and get a clue.
Seems like you act like an *** on when someone disagrees with you.
To the person asking about the sub, take a look at some car audio forums and see what people are running. You wont see bass link much, go to some car audio shops and listen to some subs and see what you like.
