Apline E's

What have you guys heard about the alpine E's. Im buying a set of two 12's. 600w, with a Alpine V12 amp..the subs are in a box. All for $300. Is that a fair deal.
Im selling my Memphis Audio stuff right now.

the only way i would give up memphis gear is if you have some of the older stuff, or if you have power references.

if you have Mclass or better, you are taking a serious downstep on the subs, and the amp is personal opinion.

my current set up is a new Memphis 12" 450w sub. And the amp is a 335w Ultimate. In my opinion..it sounds freakin awesome. But, I'd like to have a two sub set up.

I was told that the E class subs from alpine are the entry level. My buddy has 2 10" E's in the back of his golfe with a 600watt kenwood amp pounding them and to be honest for entry level they sound pretty damn good.

I think I may do that. I'll have to get a more powerful amp though. I'm really impressed with the way the Memphis sounds. I can get a deal on the Ultimate amps..and the subs are around $90 a piece...So, it'll be about the same. Except the cost of making a new box. The memphis set up should cost around $350..just a little more than the Alpines.

Further on that, what have you guys heard about the Memphis subs?

i would stay with your memphis and re-do the box or get another one so you have to re-do the box.

I've heard that too about the E series, you know that they are entry level subs, and i can't really see why. see i have two E series 12's, powered by an X-plod 800 watt amp, and mine is pretty loud, especially when compared to the two JBL 12's i was pushing before with the same amp. I would definitely recommend those subs as they work great for me, i'm always getting compliments on my system.

I have deals flying at me from everywhere. I sold my Memphis+ultimate set up. And as of tomorrow. I will be the proud new owner of a 1200w Ultimate amp with a 12" 1000w Armegedon sub. From what I've heard..those Armegedons throw hard.

i think the armagedons are made by kove...and as far as i remember they're a decent SPL sub but lack SQ. Whatever subs you buy try and audition them first and not in the store, if you can, try to listen to them in a car.
