sub wire guages

sub wire guages

what guage is best to use on subs that are are 1200 W rated?

12 gauge should be fine unless the wires are really long then go bigger

I used bigger wire than that on my tweeters.

It'll probably be ok, but it's not like 3 feet of 12 gauge is going to break the bank.

But, more important than what the subs are "rated" at, what amp are you using to drive them?

I don't have an amp yet, my subs are rated 1200 W max, 300 W RMS

it doesn'tmatter what the subs are rated for. That's not what determines how much power flows through the wires. The amp determines that.

yes but you asked what amp i had so i said i dont have one yet, anyhow i got 12 guage now.
