Good sounding, stock looking stereo?
I did a search and didn't find a whole bunch. However I'm wanting to take my 89 TTA and replace the 4x6s in the front and 6x9s in the rear with Infinity Kappas, since 2 of my speakers are blown right now. I want to keep my stock headunit so I can everything appear stock, however I have a few questions.
Does the car have a stock amp? If so, where is it? I can see that the front speakers will be easy to change but how hard are the rears? How hard is it to remove the head unit? I'd really prefer to do all of this removing as few of interior panels as possible. The car only has 18k miles on it and I'm pretty scared about doing this. One of my friends specializes in stereos and has worked at Circuit City for a couple years installing and selling stereos, he's gunna help me with the install. I also don't want it to look like crap I want it to look completely stock. Where has been a good place people have found to hide their amp?
Hopefully I can get this all fixed soon so I can listen to the radio on my way to the Trans Am Naitonals in August. Thnks in advance for your help.

The rear speakers are about 60x easier than the fronts. For the rears you need to unscrew the coathanger screw and then pull up to get the sail pannel off. 4 Bolts on the speakers and they are out. Now the ones in the dash on the other hand...yea...take out all 16 screws for the dashpad(and hope to *** you don't crack it) then you can remove the speakers....at which point you will notice that there is no mounting depth what so ever. I think the Kappas are shallow enough, but most speakers aren't.
