Which capacitor
Okay, I don't know much about the stereo thing, but I do have a question.
I have an autotek ss amp running a 400W Rockford Fosgate HI. Which capacitor should I use?
Also, how much heat can the amp take? It is not in a well ventilated area, and it gets hot here during the summers. I have never had a problem with it in previous summers, but there is no point if half-assing something, right?

You probably won't even need a capacitor for that size of amp. If you run into electrical problems it can probably be fixed by upgrading the big 3 wires (do a search).
Mainly capacitors are just extra storage for power in case your system puts so much drain on the battery it can not keep up with the demands.
