I'm in the process of upgrading the speakers in my 85 roc. My question is what do you guys think are the best sounding 6x9 speakers that will fit in the stock pillar location in my car? I'm looking for a pair of speakers that won't distort at a medium to loud level and provide decent bass. They will be powered by a pretty good headunit amp. I know I know...head unit amps suck but this one is pretty decent model. It cost me around 400 bucks for the cd player. I'm not looking for subwoofer bass...YET..I just want something that will provide ok bass that wont sound like paper you know? Right now I'm looking at some
Infinity Kappas 2004 model speakers. They're a bit expensive though but I dont want low quality. Thanks for the suggestions!!!

 

I just installed a pair of Infinity Reference 3 way 6x9s. So far, I think they are great. They replaced a cheap pair of Pioneer 2 way 6x9s. They are powered by a pretty low tech (read: 4yrs old) Pioneer head unit. Anyway, I like em. They are my first personal experience with Infinity and I am impressed.

 

infinity,phoenix gold,alpine etc are all good choices

 

you might as well get the infinity 4 inchers for the front that are in a 4x6 frame...that and the infinity or JL 6x9's would work wonders!!!
