HELP- MP3 CD-RW wont work
just got a new alpine deck. Its awsome, but it wont play MP3's if its on a CD-RW. The deck says it can play CD-R and CD-RW. MP3 on CD-R works just fine. Ive never had a deck that can play MP3's so maybe Im doing something wrong. Im using Adaptec Create CD to format the CD-RW and then I drag-n-drop the MP3's onto the disk. Put the CD-RW into the deck and it just gives me an error message. Am I doing this the wrong way? Help please!

Have you tried using a brand new CD-RW? Sometimes some machines can't read an RW that has gone thru many erase cycles.

You should NOT have to format a CD-RW to use it to make a DATA CD.
Do this:
Open EZ-CD, to make a DATA CD.
In one of the menus at top (it has been a while since I have used it) There is an option to ERASE CD-RW. Do that.
Then after it completes, make a regular DATA CD just like you would if you were using a CD-R.

The disks I am using are new. And I am using Direct CD to set it up like its a hard drive that you can ad or remove files at will. I will try it the other way by creating a data disk. thanks for the help. also.. the deck says I can organize songs into 'files' is this something that I have to do in the creation process on the computer or after when the disk is in the deck?

Easy fix----
Do Not ever use Direct Cd or any other packet writing software. Your life will be much easier without it.
Its a CD-RW, treat it as a CD-R, until you are tired of what is on it, then do a quick erase and re-write it.
But always, always, make a DATA CD from within EZ-CD ( or even better NERO)
EDIT: The file structure must be set before (during) the burning process.
