The Pioneer GM-D510M is a new class D mono amp that will put out something like 500 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. I have always been a fan of the JBL power series amps, but they discontinued the older models.

Here's my question: How does this amp stack up to say a JBL BP600.1? Will it drive a 12" Type-R nicely? Is there any place that I can get a good cheap JBL amp? Is there a better alternative to this amp for a type-R?

if you have an authorized dealer install it, then it has a 2 or 3 year warranty.
they aren't the best in the world, but they are damn good for the money.
