Speaker Separating from mount....fix?

One of my 4x6 Polk speakers that is essentially new is seperating from it's metal mounting plate. What kind of adhesive does the factory use to secure this part and what can I use to reattach it? I tried hot glue the other day and it only held for about a week and a half. Maybe some of the Super Hold 3m adhesive or something like that? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because the buzzing is driving me crazy.

I assume you mean the surround is coming apart from the basket? If so, an epoxy should work fine.

Any suggestion on what type of epoxy to use that will bond the metal and cardboard?

How did cardboard come into play? The only part of the moving speaker that contacts the basket is the surround, which is either foam or rubber.

If the cardboard "gasket" is the piece that came off, that's purely cosmetic and serves no other purpose. You can either throw it away (if the speakers aren't visable) or use whatever glue is most convenient for you.

If it's the surround that came apart, any 5-minute, 2-part epoxy should work fine. Just don't get any of it on the rolled part of the surround. Put a thin layer on the basket and press the flat part of the surround into it.
