What do u think?
Right now I have brand new Memphis 6X9 speakers mounted in 2 Roadmaster boxs and I am going to put them behind my back seat (pic) Tommorow I will be getting the 200 Watt amp from Wal Mart here And mounting it inbetween the 2 boxs. What do you think about this set up? Any suggestions?
Do you think the boxs will need any bass ports?

All I can say is it'll certainly sound like someone's in the rear hatch trying to get out.
You'll have a really loud, nasty sounding system for ~$100. I hope you're not going for sound quality.
Just my 2¢

So do you guys not like it? I am new to sound systems so when you say "your imaging will suck" does that just mean it will not sound good? What I am looking for a lil more bass out of the system and since I got the speakers for free I figured I would just see what I can do with them. Do you think the box will need bass ports?
If you want bass buy a sub then put it in the recomnded box with a decent amp capable of powering the sub. Any co-ax speaker is made for a stock replacement and while this will improve your stereo it will not be able to put out any real amount of bass.

my friend has a 73 superbeetle convertible with 6x9's in small sealed boxes and hooked up to an amp and they seem to be alright...i dont know the spec on the amp but i know its a small rockford one and the speakers are rockford also
but yah it bumps more than the average 6x9 and also is really loud when turned up......i've never heard those boxes in a hatchback car though so i dunno what to tell ya on how it will sound....but im pretty sure that you wont want to port them...but then again im not a speaker expert so its just my opinion..... good luck

why dont you put those speakers in your sail panal ware 6/9s should go then run the amp to them... that way it will look alot cleaner and less hickish no offence... then save some money and put a dual 12 inch box in the back down the road... trust me this way will sound and look alot better. but its all up to u man

Well if I put these in the sail panel area then I will have to find a stop alot of rattles. And I dont like the way this looks either but I will soon be getting my rear hatch tinted and I will not be opening my hatch anymore at cruise ins.

Well I got it all installed tonight and I think it sounds awsome! But, I also dont have anything to compare to. But it sounds much better then you guys were saying. Right now I have the amp crossover set to bass and these speaker are hitting pretty hard. How long should they last with bass going to them? and I am not turning them up so high that it distorts them either.

ITs just me, but I have always hated oval shaped speakers. Plus if you are looking for bass out of 6x9s good luck.
The separate boxes like that look tacky to me also.
But everyone has their preferences.
I like the stealth look, I guess (wires, boxes, etc). With my camaro, its easy. Box for 2 JL subs in the back, flush with the gas tank cover. Amps and cap mounted right next to them. Then the privacy cover down. Cant even tell they are back there from the outside.
Much harder with my 2 door standard cab truck though. Speakers behind the seats, but amps too big to fit under the seats. That meant a conversion to bucket seats with no center console, and everything in the center. Looks nasty but its all I can do right now.

As long as they aren't popping (you'll know it when you hear it), they will be fine.
The problem with cheap amps is that the distortion level is a lot lower than better ones... so the farther you crank it the more smooshed together the sound will be... or something like that.
