CD Player w/Bose System

Just a quick question, can a CD player be added to a stock Bose system without any modifications? I evenually want to add 4 more speakers and a full blown system. But for now, I would like to maintain the "stock showroom" appearance. Thanks

I bet you can do it... but what I wonder, what is so damned appealing of the stock stereo look? I think it makes the car look cheap... don't get me wrong, I don't think I would go for all the LCD screens and stuff, unless you could hide them or something, because they are just too flashy, but a properly-sized deck would look great in our cars... I guess, what, a 1.5 din? the GM replacement size... you don't see those everywhere but I bet you can find 'em

You looking to keep the factory head unit and just add a cd player? Yea, you can add an RF modulated CD changer. Otherwise, if you're looking to replace the stock head unit, you just need to bypass the factory amp. It's slightly time consuming, but not difficult at all.

I have an adapter I just bought that can be used with a bose system. It's from american international part # SLC-1

I'm not sure of the quality, it costed me $20. It connects to all four channels and has four RCA outs and speaker level outs, all adjustable to match what's on the other end.

Seems like alot of trouble to go through, I'd just get an aftermarket HU, some real amps and rewire it all. DIN, DIN 1/2, it doesn't matter to me, they have install brakets for these cars too! I care more about the sound than the looks.
