sub box interference?

hey everyone I want to upgrade my system soon with some subs two 12s or 10s havent decided yet anyways my amp is mounted on the bottom of the well can i keep it there with a sub box and my cd changer is in the locked compartment on the right side. Would I still be able to access the compartment and keep the amp in the same spot with abox back there? If all this is possible where can I buy such a box?

Thanks in advance

well pretty much any box will do...

I mean, I open my storage area all the time... (it is hindered about 5%... no big deal)

that is ONLY because this box comes up so high, normal dual 12 boxes do not come up this high... mine is just built for two 15's, that's why...

to answer your question, yes you can buy a box that will allow your amp to sit in your well, hold two 12's and allow access to your storage area...

you will find this box at your local stereo shop, and it's not common... the one that is most common goes all the way down to the bottom of the well...

I would not personally mount your amp down there because they will eventually heat up, and even if they don't it's still not where they wanna be... at least add some cooling solution down there for those poor amps...

p.s. you will most likely have to make this box yourself or find a member that has or will make you one.

It completely depends on the specific box you choose. Some might interfere, some might not. It depends on the height, and how far to the side it protrudes. With my boxes, access to the storage is possible once the cosmetic panel is removed, but not with it in place.

well as said before alot of premade boxes dont give your really any breathing air for the amp. You dont want to give it little air especially if it doesnt have fans.

You could always mount the amp on the hump. You can lay a piece of wood under the carpet nice and snug and mount the amp to that.

You could custom make a box yourself and make an amp rack someplace too. But theres tons of factors to think of. How big the amp is..(size of the amp length and width.) , if it has fans or not, mounting locations, etc.

Just think of some ideas....

also, you usually want the most box air space as possible... and having the amps down there will only hinder that
