Well...I guess you could call this an amp rack? What do you guys think? I'm not sure if I should put the amp on it...or underneath...that way, it would be hidden...and a bit cleaner with no wires. Any suggestions or thoughts are welcome. Give me some info and idea's guys! thanks

(the amp is just sitting there, not mounted)

sure man

I bought a sheet of 2'X4' ply wood. Cut it down to 2 piece of wood. Then, cut an angle to get the tilted effect I wanted. Then, used "liquid nails" to put the 2 piece together, held down with weights to get a very tight fit. Let it dry overnight. Then, I covered the hole thing with a coat of bondo. Blocked the whole thing. Then sprayed it with a metallic graphite textured paint (same as my roll cage), then sprayed a coat of flat clear coat on it. Thought it would update it a little....and it's cool because no wood grain is seen at all...and it's seamless

looks nice but i think it would look better with the same carpet material like around the speakers.

I like it. It has the clean no clutter look. Doesn't even look like its made of wood. Good job. I think I would mount the amps on top and the wires under it. Why not show off what you have worked hard on.

actually, I'm kind of trying to get away from the "carpet" look. I'm thinking about getting a piece of thin wood or something to put over the actual speaker box, painting it with the graphite spray...and blend it in with the rest.

That's EXACTLY the look I was wanting. I was wanting to get the effect of a thin leather...like the color of my SS seats. To me...it matches very very well. Painted it was way easier then covering it with a material too.

Because I had to glue it together with liquid nails-let it dry, coat it with bondo-let it dry, block sand the whole thing, spray 3 coats of color-let it dry, spray 2 coats of clear-then let it dry....it took roughly 2 days.

How about flush mounting the amp into that board instead of sitting it on top? That'll give a nice smooth appearance. Then you can recover the sub enclosure with the same material, and you'd have a real nice looking setup.

Pictures of the roll bar are located on my car dowmain site if you wanna take a look at it. I ordered it from a place in California made by "AutoPower". Here is the link to the site I got it from: http://www.livermoreperformance.com/

The brand is "Duplicolor" and it's a textured metallic spray

The whole project cost about $30 bucks total

That's what I was going to do....but...after I realized it...I already finished sanding it. If I tryed to do that right now..I'm afraid that the bondo would start to crack...and ruin the finish.

I love the covering, where did you get it at??? IT looks like a very darh grey...like an ebony..and that's what I'm looking for. I think it would be best to get cover it all with a covering instead of spraying the rest of it...(speaker box)

black88cam, how did you wrap the sharp corners so well in vinyl? is there a tuck that can't be seen in the pics? It really looks great and any insight into your wraping technique could really help me out on a few projects I have in mind.
