If you're not in a hurry, over the winter I plan to make a mold of mine and start selling them. Since Reznor (or whatever his name was) went off to Iraq, a lot of people have been asking about where to get custom kicks.
I'm also planning to offer them with custom component speakers with crossovers designed specifically for that application.
Here's a pic of one of my kickpanels:

Right now I'm probably planning to offer them in carpet and vinyl. Painted will be more (way more).
With any luck, after the holidays I'll have time to start working on that mold and the components.

yea definitly because 200 for qlogic plasric craps is rediculous... if you can price em competitively you may have a decent income for as long as you feel like making them. i would definitly love a set for my 5.25" components

I haven't figured out a price yet. It depends on just how easily I can make them. I would guess around $200/pair for the bare kicks in carpet, more in vinyl. If these work out the way I'm planning, they'll be a piece that you add to your kicks instead of buying a whole new set of kicks.
My goal for the speakers is to try to price them at or below $200, but I might develop a more high-end set also.
This stuff isn't going to be flea-market priced, but I'm not going to get rich off it either. I'm going to price it as affordable as I can without taking it in the shorts.
Hopefully by spring I'll have something. Right now I'm saving up for some of the test & measurement equipment that I need.

I haven't used them, but the general consensus is that if you add a few layers of dynamat or fiberglass & resin to the back side to sufficiently damp them, that they sound pretty good.

At least add some dynamat to the back side. They are just thin ABS plastic and they'll vibrate like a retard with his hand in the garbage disposal if you don't damp them.

I don't know how you stick-drivers are using these kick panel speaker set-ups! I just finished installing my new kick panels with a set-up just like the one pictured above and the left side of my foot hits the grill when using the clutch! I made the kicks specifically for the Infinity 50.5 components I got and it sticks out WAY too far, even with minimal tilt of the mid!! Maybe the magnets are too big for this kind of set-up but I'm switching the speakers to the door panels...
