Rockwood....... worth it?

I know ive read rockwood is junk but, I have two no name brand 12's in a box and I just want to get them hooked up and running in the car, so am I crazy if I buy a 400 watt rockwood for 64 dollars? Anyone know where I can get a decent amp or about 100 bucks?

This PrecisionPower PCX-250 should give you better rated power compared to the rockwood.

how bad does a product have to be when you're making a cheap rip off of the lowest common denominator in car audio in the first place? I wouldn't buy real sony stuff, nevermind the cheap ripoff stuff.

It's the lowest common denominator of audio. it's the absolutely cheapest, lowest quality piece of equipment that you could waste your money on. It's flea market garbage that even when brand new has a failure rate of something like 25% right out of the box. I wouldn't use one to beat a dead horse with.

Shall I continue? Ok. I wouldn't use it to prop up my valuable equipment in the basement to keep it off the wet floor. I wouldn't use it as a door stop because it's too cheap and lightweight to even keep the door in place. I wouldn't even use it in a kia because even Kias deserve more respect than that. I wouldn't use it in an 85 Cavalier with 400,000 miles because it would bring the value of the car down.

It's f*cking garbage. Throw it away. Wait, don't do that, because it's a waste of space in the garbage can that you can use for real garbage. Have a tag sale, put a $200 price tag on it, then wait for some thug to steal it so that it becomes his problem.

If you are going to put a system in your car, go with something decent. Rockwood, lol isnt even close to being decent. I never had Rockwood, heard of them though, but I used to have some cheap equipment and it made everything sound like crap. You dont really know how bad it is till you get some better stuff I guess. I now have Kenwood (10 disc cd changer), Kenwood Excelon ( Head unit, amp), and a Soundstream 12' DVC sub -*yes there are a lot better than that too. This stuff is not in my Trans Am. I used to own a JVC 12 disc cd changer and I thought that thing was nice till I got the Kenwood. It was a total difference in sound quality. No, I am not putting down JVC, I just think they are decent. Just like my old Pioneer cd head unit, when I put the Kenwood in its place the Pioneer became just decent. I used to own a Boss amp and it quit working lol. Well anyways, just from experience, you DO get what you pay for and if you are going to go all out with sound equipment do it wisely. It all just depends on what you are looking for.

no, I dont think mine does, but I am sure they make one. Why do you need mp3 anyways? Tell me if I am wrong on this...mp3 are songs you get from the internet. I had a free program for yrs called CD-EX from the internet ( just do a search for that at yahoo or something) that just converted all of my mp3 songs over to wav. files, then all I had to do was burn that to a cd-r disc. I have also seen the programs at like circuit city for if I remember, $30. My new computer has some program already built into it to do it for me, so I dont need that program any longer. I never understood why mp3 capable equipment got so popular. BTW, did you decide on or against the Rockwood amp? All in all, Jim85IROC is right, they are flea market junk. I have seen alot of them that those little "carnival people" shall I call them, bring to my local convention center. They advetise great deals on stereo equipment, clothes, and you name it. You pay like $5 to get in.. and all there is, is junk and name rip of stuff inside lol. I think they use Rockwood to confuse people with Rockford.

well uhh.. the point of having mp3s is so you can burn 9 gillion songs onto one cd.... if you have a cd burning program it'll automatically burn mp3s into wav format if you arent gunna make an mp3 cd, there is no need to convert and take up more HD space

yeah you can put 10 hours of music on one cd.... after some research, I found that Pioneer does not make an mp3 changer... even though sony does, and kenwood even has an add-on hard drive mp3 player.
