how to power my subs

how to power my subs

ok i have 3 10in alpine type r subs. they are 300 rms and 1000 max watt. can i run a mono amp for all three or do i need 3 amps or any other option. and what about caps do i only need one or more? suggestions

You have a few choices.

Your best bet is to get a mono amp and run it at2 ohms. You are gonna connect each of the subs two voice coils in series. + to _ to + to -. which will make each sub an 8 ohm load. Then connect each terminal off the box to a mono amp in parallel + of amp to all + of terminals. - of amp to all - of terminals.

Then you would need a amp that pushes 900w RMS at 2 ohms. Maybe a JBL 1200.1. Infinity 1210a. Rockford fosgate 1000.1. Something along those lines.

I would also recomend a 1 fared Cap for every 1000w of power.
