hit pothole,now radio won't play

I thought I just has a loose connection on one of my speakers, but i tightened up all the speakers and it didn't help any. my speakers sound perfect when i play a cd, but when i turn on the radio the speakers sound horrible! could i have knocked loose the internal antenna? or something else? Thanks

pot holes = bad... avoid them at all costs... my antenna used to be loose on the car.. get a wrench and tighten it if you need

Thanks, i pulled the cd player and tightened everything, sounds pretty good so far, just a little static, but not bad. i hope it doesn't turn off everytime i hit a pothole. I really need to replace my shocks and struts, i guess i have a good reason to do it now

I thought if the shocks were worn the car would be softer, as in the springs would bounce the car further up and down, and the struts are used to slow the spring movement... I didn't know that the struts actually helped prevent bottoming out... I think that's more of a spring issue.

my spraings are dead on 4 corners but my shocks in the rear are new..... the front end bottoms out all the time... the springs just keep the car up the shocks and struts slow the movement

lol, yeah my car bounces down and bottoms out everytime i go over speedbumps, i hate to have to baby my car over them and then you still hear your car scraping, i sometimes think about just flooring it and ramping the damn things!! now my radio sounds good, but my amp just blew luckily my girlfriend has an old MTX amp i can use until i get some $$$, i just spend $200 on steering parts.

i wouldnt try to "ramp" them cuz the suspension sill delfect and your body will not go up but instead go straight into the speed bump

if I go like 6 mph of speed bumps its all good... but if I go like 2 or 3 mph over the bump, my floor pans hit the ground.

the main purpose of the shock is to prevent Ocilation.

is to slow the travel of the car body up and down not to prevent it
