Where is the best place to buy some Monster Cable 1/0 gauge power wire??
Hey guys, I have tried looking at some of the online stores and ebay for some decently priced Monster Cable 1/0 gague power wire. There is nothing on ebay right now, and most of the stores either don't have a listing on thier site for this wire, or they want $6 a foot! I think that $6 is a little outrageous since some of the Stinger 1/0 gauge power wire is selling on ebay for $2 a foot. Now before everyone tells me to just buy the Stinger wire, I already have a Monster ANL type fuse holder with 300A fuse, Monster distribution block(That splits 1 1/0 gauge into 3 4 gauge) as well as Monster RCA interconnect cables. I am very **** about things matching, so naturally I want to finsih the rest of the install with Monster products. Ithink that I would need about 16 ft or so for my car. Does anyone know wehre toget this stuff a little cheaper than $6 a foot? I tried the search function but every time I tried to search it came back that the website wasn't responding. Anyone have any ideas??

monster overcharges for everything they sell. your only low-cost option will be continue watching ebay.
now if you want to save money on something that wont really be seen, get yourself some welding cable. just as flexible at a fraction of the cost. you could always dress it up with loom, techflex, or heatshrink.

I thought about the whole wire loom thing. working here at the dealership(Lexus) I seea alot of cars with systems. These people have money, and blow it on stereo equipment all the time. They have all this plexiglass and neons in the trunk with mirrors showing off thier subs and amps and crossovers, but they put wire loom over thier power wire. Me personally, would want it all to be seen. I think that it looks slightly tacky, I mean, the whole purpose of having a slamming system is for attention(well mostly anyways) and then you go and cover up the main power wire. Some people like to go for the 'stock' look, and I agree with that 100%, but when you open up the trunk and see 2 JL W7's in the rear deck with 3 Zapco amps, with a total of $40,000 invested in the stereo, you have went beyond 'stock' It's a part of your system just like everything else. End rant....

Try this... go to a local car audio joint and see what they want. Then get a business card from whomever helps you. When you get home, on the back, write something like 'MC 0 gauge 4/ft'. Then go to another competing car audio store; listen to their price. Of course it'll be higher. Ask what kind of deal you can get. When they say it's already a deal, pull out the card (act confused) and ask them "can you at least match this, and it'll save me the time to drive back to this other place"?
This worked for me once... I always wanted to try it again...

personally, i've given up on the "bling" of systems. i've had one stolen cause of it. this time around, its all about stealth. hidden (at least when off) deck, amps in the back seat (that rack is getting replaced with one that deletes the rear seats, but still will look semi-stock), and the sub i'm still trying to figure out (probably firing toward taillights and covered)
wiring is not something i care to see. under the hood, the focus should be the motor (for me at least). inside the car, there should be no wiring showing.

I always show my wires- I hung all my power cords and preamp wires from the headliner and made them zigzag in cool patterns. Plus its handy to have, I hang my sunglasses and cell phone from them.
JUST JOKING!
But could you imagine? Hahaha....
