infinity ref subs?

hey yall I just want to know which would sound better in your opinion,

current: 4 infinity ref. 6x9, 2 infinity ref. 4x6, 2 infinity ref tweeters, jvc el kameleon head unit, custom box, two phoenix amps (1600 for 12's and 1200 for 6x9's) 2 polk momo 2124 and 2 orion xtr 12

or

the same exact thing just swap the subs for all infinity ref. dvc 1232 12's?>????

thanks yall

so lets sort this out a little bit better...

you currently have:
(4) Infinity Reference 6x9's
(2) Infinity Reference 4x6's
(2) Infinity Reference Tweeters? (unknown size)
(2) Polk Momo 2124's
(2) Orion XTR 12's

I'm a bit confused... it seems like you have more speakers than can phsyically fit in this car!

where do you have the tweeters mounted, and wouldn't they conflict with the 4x6's in the dash, or the other FOUR 6x9's that you somehow mounted in this car? (did you mount some 6x9's in the hatch area or something?)

It also seems to me that you have FOUR 12" DVC subs... I'm amazed you found room for all this in your car... do you have any pics??? I'd love to seem 'em!

but your basic question is whether or not to keep the 2-Momos AND the 2-XTRs... I'd say switch to four of the SAME TYPE of subwoofer... I wouldn't recommend two different types of subs running at the same time.

so I guess from your wording... you'd want FOUR new Infinity Reference 12" DVC subwoofers.

P.S. Why are you going with only reference stuff? (It's a weak line of products---try the perfect series) You might be better off just getting two 12.1D instead of 4 Reference's

well having four subs is alot just for show, I fig. the four might actually cost less and sound just as good as the kappa I have 1 1600 phoenix powering the 12s 1 1200 phoenix powering all 6x9s and the deck powers the tweeters and the 4x6. Plus all ref. series sound pretty clean and are a cheap grab on ebay. Ill post pics soon on my cardomain site and give a link.

more subs will possibly sound louder, but not necessarily 'cleaner' or more accurate.

Where on earth do you keep that extra pair of 6x9's???

also, you don't amp the front 4x6's? hrm.

nope Ive just been runnin em off of the jvc I mean its a 50x4 so they get decent power and with all the 6x9s I dont need that muhch else in that area, the 6 x9 are just in a box above the box for the 12s the 12s are where the back seat used to be facing the seats. And yeah it sounds pretty clean because you distribute the power so that each sub will not distort as easy while still runnning a safe power level to each without underpowering them too much. In my opinion it sounds as good as 2 12s could just is more WOW factor when you lean the seats forward and show people 4 12s starin them in the face.

I have friends much taller than that... and I still stuff 4 people in my car all the time... but hey, if subs are what you want... there ya go...

I can say though... I bet for the money you spent on the 4 subs, you probably could have gotten two much better subs, that could have more power each...

but like you said, you're going for the 4-Sub look... I guess.
