I don't know about your Firebirds and Camaros, but mine is decently easy in get into if someone puts their mind to it, since the windows don't go up into a door frame. Aren't you guys worried about having such expensive audio kits in your cars? I just have a $500 dollar kit (JVC deck, with 2 pioneer 5x7s in the front, and 2 6x9s in the back). My fancy security feature is the removable face plate

well if side speakers and a cd player is what floats your boat then that will obviously work for you. but for some of us that want bass or want something to add a lilttle bit more umpf we have our stereo systems.
now im sure that most of us that have stereo systems in our cars dont have to worry on a nightly basis that someones going to break in and steal our stuff. be smart and dont have your system bumpin or whatever within 10miles of your place of residence. buy an alarm that will go off. park in a garage. i dont know about anyone else, but im sure as hell not constantly worried about my stuff. ive put a good amount of money into it but fortunatly i live in a place and/or have added security such as a good alarm system that makes me not have to be so frantic about it every night.

Well, you've highlighted the main security flaw in our cars. Yes it is easy to get in with the right tools. Its possible to use something to wedge the window open and then using a pole of some sort you can unlock the door. Bottom line, regardless of what security you have, if a thief wants your stuff and he has the skills to get it, he will. Best bet is to do what Ryan here said and prevent anyone from targetting your car. Only play the sounds far away from where you're gonna park, and get some dark tint so nobody can see whats in there. Alarms will help keep away the novice audio thief, but for the veterans out there, its a minor obstacle.
Heres what I plan to do with my car: Car dropped so low you cant get to the hood release cable (which is how they get under the hood and disable the alarm), door locks will be shaved (so they cant use a screwdriver to bust the lock) converting to door poppers, putting razor blades in the spot I hide the emergency popper button, disconnecting the interior locks (doors will only be opened by remote, in or out of the car), good alarm that will disable the car when set off, and seriously considering replacing the glass with something else (lighter and shatter proof). Kind of overkill, but I dont see anyone breaking into that car unless they had a few hours or something ...
