So I got rid of the temporary sub set up I had...
Ok this new one is only half way there. I want to finish it with a fiberglass top when I get the new subs. The area for the subs will be domed and a center section with some kind of lighted display. Hense the inverted subs, for now! Not enough room w/o the domed top! Once finished the box will be gloss black! Subs will face up. Going to set up the new amps in the back seat backs!
I had to rush my build to get it ready for a show... Won "Best Interior" at the Southern Trans Am Regional Show in Fort Walton Beach, so it could not have hurt me too bad! Due to my show schedual, the set up may remain for a few months while I get the new amps and subs staightened out. (getting some other seat backs to butcher and perfect then swap on my covers!)
The box ended up sitting a bit high...fit perfect w/o the carpet on it! Oh well, so I have some minor trimming ahead this week. So the existing covering has to come off for the trim... Not too sure I like the top covered in the ACC matching carpet. I had hopes it would match my ACC carpet perfect, but its a bit off. I ordered all the carpet at the same time, but I guess you get what you pay for.
So for the time being, till I get a chance to finish it completely... *Should I swap the box over to a black naugasoft cover, (can fit it better, will glue, does not matter if it matches the carpet since it is vinyl)
*Stick with the ACC, (close material match, but does not really fit tight enough will not glue down)
*Go to a black sub box material all over (will not match the ACC carpet, but it will fit tighter, will glue down)
I was leaning to the black naugasoft, but I'm afraid I will make everything look to busy...black plastic panels, with red hampton vinyl, reg carpet, then the black vinyl. I have matching Hampton red, but I think that will be way overkill with the red!
So what do you guys think will look the best for now?
Oh a link would be nice....

Use the ACC stuff. Even if it's not "perfect" I think it will be close enough that only you will really know; that is assuming the color isn't WAY off.
I think the box looks real good, what are your plans for new speakes?

Looks good! I like how you are saving space for tools in the well. Is the box removable? It looks like it will get stuck on the hatch mechanism cover.
What is the volume of your enclosure?
Sorry I don't have an opinion on covering the box. Everything else you've done looks good, so go with your gut feeling on that one....

I hate to say I was so rushed I never got a true measure of the cubic volume in the box...I estimate it is about 2 cubic feet. Maybe a bit less... Since it is not square inside, I'm going to have to put something in there to measure the space then pour it into something else I can measure. I know what ever it is it sound different then the old set up. I think that is mostly the speakers esentially being faced horizonal instaed of angled to the back the way they were initailly. The amp is vibrating like crap back there so close to them. I have to mount it better.
As far as getting it out. I can totally get it in and out. Very easy. I have to pull the non hatch side up...this pulls the lip under the hatch motor back to the front of the car. then from there I lift on the hatch motor end and it will just miss the hatch motor buldge. Then I lift that end up and the box will actually rest on the angled non hatch side. I plan to mechanize the whole sysytem at some point.
I'm planning to go with Audiobahn subs and components.

Oh and audiobahn since they were the ones who were most interested in a full sponcership for the car! Heck figured I could get the stuff run it to fullfill the obligation and sell it and finance a better system! Sony wanted me to get a local shop to sponcer the car and pay wholesale for the components...said the shop might pick up the tab if I let them do the install! Ummm nope...I ahve seen what shops do... with a bit of time I know I can do better! Boston seemed interested, thogh I have had no luck with them either! Pioneer does not do sponcering anymore! Could not get a straight answer out of Alpine!
I have talked to some others, but got the run around when it came time to come thru on their end!
Why who do you guys recomend? At this point, Audiobahn has me ticked, so I'm not set on them by any means! Just figured it was the best bet to get more bang for the buck! Honestly I have always run Pioneer and had good luck! Though I'm not going out for a stereo competion vehicle by any means!
I'm not sure what companies work best for sponsorship. Most probably want complete control over your car, and would put their logo in 100 different places. The Audiobahn subs can only reproduce one frequency - they're not accurate at all.
As far as sound quality goes, I'm happy with my JL Audio, but I would probably buy something from Adire right now if I was looking.

I've heard audiobaun subs... they sound sound nearly as bad as sesand is describing...
in fact, when I heard them in a guys car, (12"s) they sounded just as good as any other sub I've heard...
if you can get a FULL sponsorship... why not? if it's free... then... it's free...
sounds like a no-brainer!

Well, yeah, if it's free it might be worth taking them for a spin. But if they're giving her problems about it, I would just go somewhere else and not waste my time....
